According to IOC Joint Paris 2024 Boxing Unit/IOC Statement, those two boxers have achieved all the eligibility requirements in terms of sex and age, therefore, the competition have to be continued. Correspondingly, here magnify Taiwan under the eligibility requirements of a country to reveal the identity of Taiwan with the evident.
According to the general eligibility requirements from dictionaries/books, country is an area of land that forms an independent political unit with its own government especially when thought of as a large group of people living in one area with their own government, army, language, tradition, etc. Taiwan has its one area of land that form an independent political unit with own central and local government which is not similar or associate with any other country, along with own army and police which only rule by Taiwan government but not any country’s government. Without doubt, Taiwan has official language along with many different dialects since Taiwan embrace many different race, tradition and culture from many countries with its history.
According to the definition sets out on the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States, which was a treaty signed at Montevideo, Uruguay, on December 26 1933, the most well-known Article 1 four criteria for “states”, also is an international treaty registered with the league of Nations, the precursor to the United Nations, the declarative theory of statehood a country which is often referred to as a “state” must possess the following four qualities:” (1) a settled population, (2) a defined territory, (3) government and (4) the ability to enter into relations with other states.” Taiwan has 23 million settled population live on defined the territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu, and other territory which under effective control of fully functioning government with formal diplomatic relations with over twenty countries which represent the capacity to conduct international relations, even without formal diplomatic with those states as well enter into close relations. Therefore, Taiwan is as a matter certainly satisfies all Montevideo criteria as all other defined countries in the world.
Furthermore evident also include (1) Taiwan strait is an international strait; (2) Taiwan government is only government whom represent Taiwan and whom countries contact to establishing Taiwan relations; (3) Taiwan passport holders own 172 countries and territories accord visa-free, landing visa or e-visa privileges, (4) Taiwan maintains its own law and regulation, national defense and conducts own foreign affairs, further more (5) Taiwan contributes to the economic and benefit of the world with the ultimate goal of the country’s foreign policy to ensure a favorable environment, with much more to prove that Taiwan is fully sovereign country. Even the recent most controversial UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, passed in 1971, admitted the People’s Republic of China to the UN does not include any statements on China’s sovereignty over Taiwan or Taiwan is not a sovereignty state country, nor does it make any judgement on the future participation of Taiwan in the United Nations or other international organization. Therefore, the identity of Taiwan is actually not a position to fight, debate or argue as those two female boxers due to all the eligibility requirements are achieved.
The fact speaks and the truth with evident reveal all, Taiwan is as those two boxers who even be accused that too strong, too flexible, too powerful, too male oriented, too tall, etc. to be women by authoritative and prodigious people/association, the fact will remain same and they will continual their competition without fight with others regarding to their gender. Even the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States Article 3 further defined that the existence of a “state is “independent” of recognition by the other states.” In other words, as long as the state possess the four qualities list on article 1, an area qualifies as a country even if other countries choose not to recognize it.
