International Cooperation and Agenda 2030 : Liña de investigación

As a Research Line, we approach International Cooperation from the history and foundations of the international system designed by the United Nations following the 1948 Declaration of Human Rights, as well as the new dynamics developed in recent decades and which crystallise in the current 2030 Agenda.

From the historical evolution of Development Cooperation, we will approach global and particular processes of international cooperation promoted by international organisations, states, regions or cities, as well as non-state actors, where NGOs play a leading role, although foundations and companies also do so within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility.

It should be noted that in the framework of IGADI’s three decades of history, reflection on International Cooperation has been a constant, which has led to operational successes such as the creation and dynamisation of the Galician Cooperation and Solidarity Fund between 1997 and 2020.

O novo mundo: Multipolaridade inestable nun sistema internacional en conflito — IGADI Annual Report 2025-2026

What is the state of the planet? The IGADI Annual Report 25-26 is now available

The 19th yearbook on international relations and global politics by IGADI outlines the main dynamics of international society during 2025, as well as the prospects for ongoing developments in 2026. Marked by the presidency of Donald Trump 2.0 and the complete erosion of the Western system of norms by its main architect, the United States of America, global governance is becoming increasingly unstable.

IGADI calls on the Xunta to reconsider Galicia’s participation in UNESCO and UN Tourism

The Galician Institute of International Analysis and Documentation (IGADI, 1991–2026) expresses its concern at the position taken by the Galician government ( Xunta of Galicia) in refusing to seek its own representation within UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and UN Tourism, at a time when the Government of Spain is working to facilitate the presence of the Basque Country and Catalonia in these international bodies.
