After exploring the foundational meaning of the EU as a glocal international actor (1st edition 2024) and the legacy of four decades of Spain’s presence in constructing the Glocal EU (2nd edition 2025), the third edition will be the moment to take stock and look ahead: What role does the European Union play in a transforming world? How can our cities and regions participate in Brussels’ new directions? What is the nature of the Glocal EU when we look to the future strategically?
To address these questions, IGADI is carrying out the project’s 3rd edition throughout August and September 2026, featuring researchers associated with previous editions alongside prominent new contributors. Coordinated by Serafín Pazos, Patricia Coloret, and Daniel González Palau, the third monograph on the Glocal EU—as well as the September 29 program on IGADI TV—will pay special attention to EU-Latin America relations within the framework of the 30th Ibero-American Summit, to be held in Madrid on November 4 and 5.
