The University of A Coruña and the IGADI sign a collaboration agreement to promote the internationalization of the Ferrol Industrial Campus (CIF)

The agreement between the University of A Coruña (UDC) and the Galician Institution of International Analysis and Documentation (IGADI, for its Galician name, Instituto Galego de Análise e Documentación Internacional) signed on December 21, 2022, covers various fields in the area of internationalization of common interest for both entities, focusing on the work of the Observatory of Chinese Politics (OPCh).

The OPCh is an Ibero-American network of Chinese studies that was promoted by Xulio Ríos from the IGADI with the support of Casa Asia in 2004 and is currently directed by Raquel Isamara León de la Rosa, professor at the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP, for its official name, Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla) in México.

In the framework of this agreement between the UDC and the IGADI, the presence of the IGADI in the Ferrol Industrial Campus since April 2023 intends to boost its internationalization in line with the Strategic Plan 2021-2026, adding value to its connection with Asia (specifically China and Taiwan) and the Degree in International Relations taught in the Faculty of Humanities and Documentation of the Ferrol Industrial Campus since the current academic year 2022/2023.

As a result of the work identified for this 2023, the IGADI will reinforce the work of internationalization of the Ferrol Industrial Campus concerning Asia, mainly, and will organize in it a conference, during October, around the presence of China in Galicia. These conferences will be carried out within the Degree in International Relations framework but will be open to the entire university community and the general public.
