IGADI Launches the Second Edition of the Project “Feminist Foreign Policy and the Pact for the Future”

Between February and March 2026, IGADI will implement this initiative, focused on the analysis of Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) as an innovative approach to international relations, in connection with the 2030 Agenda.

The project’s overarching objective is to enhance the visibility of Feminist Foreign Policy as a state policy and as an innovative tool of international governance. Building on the intersection between Feminist Foreign Policy and the United Nations Pact for the Future (September 2024), the project examines the current state of the international feminist agenda and monitors the specific equality-related actions included in the Pact for the Future, conceived as an accelerator of the 2030 Agenda.

Among the project’s main activities, the initiative “Feminist Foreign Policy and the Pact for the Future” will feature an online event lasting two hours and thirty minutes, to be held on 5 March 2026 (18:00–20:30), moderated by Patricia Coloret (IGADI). In 2026, the initiative will benefit from the participation of researchers such as Manuela Paza (CEIPAZ), Inés Arco (CIDOB), and María Solanas (Elcano Royal Institute), as well as from the collaboration of UNED-Pontevedra, strengthening the project’s academic and outreach dimensions. In addition, the IGADITV programme on 5 March will feature several surprise guest speakers (1st edition).

The project also includes the preparation and publication of the second edition of the Report that defined the first edition, addressing the history of Feminist Foreign Policy, its key debates, and its relationship with the Pact for the Future and global governance. The report will be published in Portuguese and Spanish, with the aim of facilitating knowledge transfer from Galicia to an international audience, particularly within the Ibero-American space.

Registration is available via the UNED-Pontevedra website or by contacting info@igadi.gal.

The project is supported by the 2025 Call for Grants on Human Rights of the Secretariat of State for Foreign and Global Affairs, within the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
