“Feminist Foreign Policy and the Summit of the Future,” underway since December 1, 2024, focuses on analyzing Feminist Foreign Policy as an innovative model in current International Relations, developed by countries such as Sweden, Mexico, Canada, and Spain. Activities include an online conference series scheduled for the first week of March 2025 and the publication of a study in Spanish and Portuguese on the impact of the Summit of the Future with a gender perspective.
The second project, “Spain in the CPLP: A New Horizon for Multilateralism” will begin on January 1, 2025. This project explores opportunities to shape Spain’s presence as an associate observer in the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), stemming from the development in Galicia of Law No. 1/2014, of March 24, on leveraging the Portuguese language and ties with Lusophony (known as the Paz Andrade Law). Planned actions include a study on the role of observers in the CPLP and a virtual conference in April 2025. The project highlights the strategic connection of Spain and Galicia with key regions such as Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
Both initiatives, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reflect IGADI’s commitment to generating knowledge and promoting a more inclusive, effective, and contemporary diplomacy. Additionally, they strengthen Galicia’s role as a strategic bridge in today’s international society.
The registration period to participate in the virtual conferences will open soon. Interested parties can register or inquire about the projects by writing to info@igadi.gal.
