Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Research and collaboration Between Instituto Galego de Análise e Documentación Internacional (The Kingdom of Spain) and Institute for China LAC People to People Exchange (The People’ s Republic of China) (2022)

 1 Preamble
1.1 This Memorandum of Understanding is intended to promote co-operation and advancement of international understanding between Instituto Galego de Análise e Documentación Internacional (IGADI) and Institute for China-LAC People-to-People Exchange (ICLPE) to their mutual benefit.
    1.2 The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to enable IGADI and ICLPE to achieve objectives as set out below.

2 Objectives

The objective of the Memorandum of Understanding is to enable both parties to explore and discuss:
2.1 The development and promotion of research collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
2.2 The exchange of academic staff and scholars.

2.3 The sponsoring of co-operative seminars, workshops and other academic meetings on matters of mutual interest.
2.4 The exchange of the university publications and information.

   
3 The Understanding

    3.1 Proposals for collaborative work under this Memorandum of Understanding will be submitted through liaison officers designated by each institution to assure conformity with the objectives.

    3.2 The terms and scope of each proposal will be described in individual agreement which will be prepared subsequent to this Memorandum of Understanding and signed by both Parties and exchanged prior to commencement.


4 Commencement and Duration

    4.1 This Memorandum of Understanding commences on the date of signature by the appropriate officer of both institutions. It will be in effect for a period of five (5) years and the continuation of the agreement is only possible with the agreement of both institutions. It is subject to revision or modification by mutual agreement. If either Party intends to terminate this Memorandum of Understanding, one-year’s prior written notice must be provided.
    4.2 Nothing in this Memorandum of Understanding shall be construed as creating a legal relationship between the Parties and for the avoidance of doubt the Parties agree that this Memorandum of Understanding is not legally binding.
    4.3 This Memorandum of Understanding is prepared in English and Chinese, with two signed copies for both IGADI and ICLPE.
